The tender documents are going out today and are due back 31st march. So once the contract is let the contract will start in May. Hot water will not be affected as such as we are going to provide a service throughout the project. There will be planned shutdown periods which will mean that hot water will be turned off for some periods ( hours) to enable changing systems over. Residents will be noted when shutdowns will take place.
The heating service will be turned off through the summer period with a target of back on by 31st Oct. This will enable the main plant room, sub plant rooms, buried mains distribution mains to be installed. Once this is done we enter phase three of the project. This will include installation of new heating system within each dwelling. This will mean that each dwelling will be isolated externally and the existing system removed and new installed. This will be done on a dwelling to dwelling basis on an agreed appointment system with the occupier between 31st of Oct until contract completion Dec. Each property will be shut down for approx. 3-5 days to allow installation of the new system. Temporary heating will be supplied if required during this period.
