As you know your JMB resident directors have been working hard to persuade Parliament and the Lords to help us retain truly affordable homes for the members of our community. We are really worried how proposals in the current Housing and Planning Bill (especially in relation to forced sales) could dismantle the massive progress made by the JMB in establishing a successful community/management model over the last twenty years. Achievements which have been recognised not only by our residents but also by visiting government ministers and other housing organisations from all over the country.
Your support through signing our petition, door knocking on the estates and attendance at meetings has been fantastic – thank you.
Our MP, Neil Coyle and our local councillors have also been very supportive and we would also like to pass on our appreciation to them also.
We have joined forces with other housing organisations (local and national) to lobby the House of Lords who debate the bill in early March. Please follow updates on this website and our twitter feed.
