Update on the external improvement scheme on the Meakin estate. The contract was for the renewal of rainwater goods, concrete repairs, repair and replacement of drainage gulleys on walkways and ceiling panels under walkways, painting of railings and brickwork cleaning.
At the present time Lakehouse have completed 10 out of a total of 35 agreed snags (work which we believe is not of the required standard or is unfinished). It has been agreed that Lakehouse will use their team of labour currently working on the Lawson estate contract to complete this work in the new year when that contract is finished.
We have just opened five tender returns for the second phase of the Meakin contract, which is for brickwork repairs, bin chambers and pigeon spikes on communal lights. These will be examined by our consultant surveyors to determine which tender best meets our requirements using a 60% price, 40% quality analysis. Leaseholder consultation will now take place over the next four to six weeks which means that the work is likely to start towards the end of February and last for 10 to 12 weeks.
