On behalf of Leathermarket JMB, we’d like to thank the Fine Foods Italian Delicatessen (www.finefoodse1.co.uk pictured right) and other local neighbours for coming to the support of the residents of the JMB’s Decima Street block after they lost all power at the weekend.
Fine Foods came forward and provided hot drinks and food for our residents after a small fire on Saturday Night left residents without any electricity.
JMB Chair John Paul Maytum said:
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Fine Foods and the other neighbours who came forward on behalf of the residents of Decima Street and the JMB as a whole. Having a power cut nowadays can leave you with so little you can do for you and your family, so the offers of food and hot drinks really made a big difference.
“The Decima Street residents are very proud of how close the local community is and it really is heartening to see good local businesses stepping up to the mark to support others. It does make a huge difference to see this happen.”
Power was restored to residents by Sunday evening (10 June). The cause of the fire in the locked electrical cupboard is still being investigated.
