The latest round of home refurbishment work has started on the Lawson Estate this week (7 May 2012)
The work – as part of the ‘Decent Homes’ improvements – will involve kitchen replacement, electrical rewiring and heating replacement (as necessary) to homes in:
Work will only take place inside tenant’s homes. There will be no work in properties where people have bought their own home and there should be no costs to leaseholders.
The work will be carried out by a company called Elkins. They are starting to survey properties this week to find out exactly what work will be required. They intend to carry out most of the work over the summer and autumn, with work complete by the end of the year. The grass space between Munday House and Nashe House will be used as a site compound.
Elkins will be in touch with individual tenants to arrange a convenient time for an initial survey to take place.
